Task 1

I feel that while I have developed myself in lots of areas I have definitely enjoyed the most recent skill I taught myself of 2D animation during my FMP and I would really like to explore that area more in the coming year.

A short term goal I would set myself is getting above a pass in my FMP, a medium goal I would set myself is getting above a merit in my year 13 FMP and a long term goal I would set myself is finding a job somewhere in the media industry that I enjoy and that makes ok money.

I am interested in a lot of areas of the media industry but I think if I had to choose an industry to work in I’d say the film industry because it’s the type of media that I most enjoy to consume so I feel I would be satisfied with my work.

I feel like at the start of the year my communication was not as effective as I didn’t feel comfortable to take a leadership role especially in groups of people I didn’t know, but through working with my friends on some projects outside school I feel that I’ve built confidence in leading a group and I now feel much more confident to speak up in group settings. I think I have got on well in the majority of group activities throughout the year but at the start of the year that was because I avoided conflict and now it is because I can directly address and diffuse the conflict. I worked as part of a group during FMP. My group stayed in contact using a WhatsApp group chat. I feel I could improve my communication by speaking with new people more and building confidence in communicating with people I haven’t spoken to properly before.

I like that this course seems more relaxed as I think there would be more freedom to experiment with the work that you create. I also like that it looks at media on a whole instead of just one area.

I like this course as they say that from day one you’ll produce your own films, taking on industry roles, experimenting with techniques, and working with clients and I really want to do a course that prepares me for actual industry work.
