I’m on task 1 of the booklet as I received the work online from my teacher today as 

I’ve been ill off school.

I plan to mind map out my 3 fmp ideas and to see which is the most viable option. 

I also plan to reflect on my previous projects and rate them out of 10. 

I think I was successful today although I would have liked to finish task 1

I’m still on task 1 of the booklet 

This lesson I plan to do a Venn diagram with the skills I developed for my top 3 units 

highest ranked on enjoyment and also film an audio recording explaining why I want 

to make what I want to make. 

I completed the venn diagram task but I struggled with the audio task so I think I will 

re-record this tomorrow.

Next lesson I will re-record the audio recording and map out some ideas around the 

scenes I want in the music video.

I’m still on task 1 of the booklet 

I plan to re-record the audio recording  and plan out some ideas for scenes in the 

music video. 

I am confident with the work I did today and I feel like it was good to sleep on the 

audio recording because when I came back to it I felt much more confident about my 

idea so I was able to confidently put together a script to read and then record it. 

I also started to mindmap ideas for scenes I could film so that when I’m not sick I can 

film them immediately.

Next lesson I want to put all my mind maps and diagrams that I drew on paper up on 

to wix. I also want to email the actors that I worked with before to see if they will be 

available to film in the coming weeks.

I plan to put all my mind maps and diagrams that I drew on paper up on 

to wix. I also want to email the actors that I worked with before to see if they will be 

available to film in the coming weeks.

I was able to complete both these tasks and I was able to meet with actors tomorrow.

I have decided to not do any work on saturdays as I want to keep momentum with the project and keep motivation so by taking this day off to rest and socialise I think that I can give my brain time to rest for better ideas and also keep myself motivated as I know a rest day will be coming up.

I’m starting task 2 of the booklet. 

I plan to try and learn how to fly the drone and film some scenes with it and also 

meet with my actors and get the main actor confident with using the mask.

Unfortunately I could not use the drone today as for some reason it wasn’t working,  

I am going to consult my friend who enjoys flying drones to see how I can fix this. 

I overcame this problem by filming all the scenes on my phone. I felt this was still 

successful as I got the shots I wanted and got my actors to practise with my horse 

mask. I also got to choose who would be the main actor by seeing who was able to 

act the most confidently and naturalistically with the horse mask.

I’m still on task 2 in the booklet 

I plan to reflect on the clips that I’ve filmed and arrange a time to meet my friend who 

has experience with filming with drones so I can overcome the issues I had with it.

We managed to get the drone into the air but the SD card won’t hold any recording on it and still appears blank so I’m going to buy a new SD card to see if this fixes the issues but on a more positive note my friend said I can use his house to film at any time which is really good because his bedroom has great lighting

I’m starting the proposal and doing some of the research. 

I like to do 2 tasks at once because then by switching between the two, I stay 

motivated and I get a lot more work done.

I did some research into music video types and I also began the proposal I feel 

confident that I’ve done a good amount of work

I finished the proposal for this lesson, and analysed Lady Gaga’s telephone music video.

I’m currently working on the research (task 3 of the booklet)

I plan to form this lesson and also do some secondary research around actual loneliness statistics. 

I think I was successful in my plan for this lesson as I was able to make a form also when I go home my mum’s friend does a lot of research so I’m going to ask her to look over my form and see if it looks professional, I then plan to send this form to friends and family next lesson. Also next lesson I plan to do some more secondary research on music video structure.

I plan to send my form out to friends and family and research and also I plan to research Alex Goodwin’s music video theory.

I sent the form out to friends and family and I researched Alex Goodwin’s music video theory and then put the results into a table.

I’m still on task 3 of the booklet

In the lesson I plan to look more into the public opinions of what constitutes a good music video. 

I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole today during my research and ended up looking more into the structure of my music video and what the ending and introduction will be. I plan to timeline this in a future lesson but next lesson I need to get back on track on defining a good music video.

Today I want to work on defining a good music video and also finish my work on the structure of a good music video i.e making the timeline. 

I feel I was successful in completing both of these tasks and I now feel much more confident about both the plot of my music video and how I could make it excel.

I’m on task 3 of the booklet 

Today is Wednesday so I am working from home, I plan to work on action research and learn how to use animation so I can apply it to my music video. 

I felt that this went really well as I found a good program to use for animation and I created a short animation using the tutorial.

Next lesson I plan to start thinking about what kind of animation I want for my music video and do more action research.

I’m still on task 3 of the booklet. 

This lesson I plan to research various camera effects in class that I could use in my film and then practise the shots at home. I also plan to go over the research sections I’ve written already and check for SPAG errors.

This went well. I got lots of research done on camera effects and also I looked into the history of music videos however when I asked, apparently that’s not helpful research so I might need to do a bit more work on the research section of the booklet or find a way to link this research to what I’m actually going to do for my music video.

I’m working on the research section of the booklet.

This lesson I plan to do more research into shot types and location scout.

I researched different music videos from different eras and studied them to see how I could relate this to my own music video, I also looked at different shot types and thought about how I could apply this to my own music video. I also looked around Cambridge after class for streets that aren't too busy that I could use for some of the walking sequences in my music video.

I’m working on the active research today. 

I plan to edit the finished clips

I had lots of technical issues because for some reason premiere pro kept closing when I was editing the clips but then I used a different computer in class and I didn’t have that issue anymore. The technical issues were frustrating as I didn’t get as much work that I wanted to do but I was able to finish what I needed to finish the main work at hand.

I’m working on the research section of the booklet

This lesson I was originally planning to do more active research but this lesson I got my proposal feedback back so I plan to work further on the areas that my feedback suggests instead. 

I detailed what primary and secondary research I planned to undertake and why, I also created a skills plan that relates to my abilities and I did a little work on audience research however I am yet to have completed all the areas I was told to work on i my feedback so I plan to do more next lesson

This lesson I plan to finish the proposal feedback given. 

The moodboard ended up taking up the majority of the lesson time so I had to finish the rest when I got home but I’ve now completed all the feedback that I needed to.

I’m currently working on the active research.

This lesson I plan to research into how to use editing to emotionally impact the audience.

I researched The Kuleshov effect today and I then edited some of my practice footage to apply this effect to see how I could use it in my film. I really liked how this looked and I plan to use it for one character looking at another character in my film because I like the tension it builds.

I plan to research storylines and what makes an emotionally compelling story.

I researched into what makes an audience cry because I wanted my music video to have an emotional impact on the audience and I found this article really helpful and it also made me feel much more secure about what I wanted my plot to be about.

I’m still working on the active research 

This lesson I want to start working on the intro as the song begins with a little distorted intro section which I want to use for a title sequence. I want to research the best way to go about this process for this lesson. 

I chose to use 2d animation for the intro as I felt that it was a skill that I could realistically learn in the time frame and also that it would fit well with the layered texture and fast tempo of the song. I researched the best 2d animation apps to use and I felt Krita would be the best program for the duration and style of animation that I wanted to create. I experimented with using Krita and I made a little animation of a dancing man which I rendered into a gif and uploaded onto my wix page.

I feel like this was successful as I got lots of slides done and I feel confident in the work that I've done, the animation process is taking longer than I expected but I feel confident that I can .

This lesson I plan to do some research on colour theory and how I can use it to convey mood I also plan to do some more work on the animated introduction when I get home. 

I got some good research down about colour theory, I did some animated work at home and I also watched the film Thirteen because I think it's a really good example of colour theory being used to convey mood and I wanted to rewatch it with my new research in mind. 

Next lesson I plan to write about Thirteen because I want to mirror my music video's use of colour grading of the film and I also want to do some more general research and some more work on the animation.

Finishing pre production documents as I finally got enough people from different age groups to complete the forms I sent out for me to able to fairly compare results,

Today I plan to finish this area of the preproduction and also look over my entire fmp to check for unfinished work as well as SPAG errors.

Next lesson I plan to finish more pre production work and maybe begin editing some of the clips that I’ve filmed.

I think today went well as I completed one area of preproduction and I found which areas needed more work and which didn’t so now I feel much more confident with the work that I’ve done

I think I succeeded today although I’ve realised I definitely need to do some more filming as not all the footage came out as well as it should. I worked on the script today and I made a risk assessment for shooting.

I’m working on production today

I plan to  reshoot the shots of the horse before he attempts to kill himself.

This was really successful as the car park wasn’t busy at all so we were able to shoot without people walking into frame.

I finished the outro today and rendered it into a video so I can add it to my project on premier pro.

I’m working on production and editing

I plan to film the McDonald's footage today and refilm the dinner alone as the lighting was really bad last time. I also plan to finish my animation.

I finished the outro today, also filmed at mcdonald’s with the full crew and used a youtube tutorial to edit yesterday's footage together and clone my main character for the final shot. Overall a very positive day.

I want to do a little more colour grading and editing on my video because I wasn’t very happy with the rushed edited finished version and my teachers said it was ok for me to hand in a better version on monday.

I was glad I took the time to do this because it looked much better at the end. 

Next lesson I plan to proof read all my work so far as the sue debt is getting ever closer.

I plan to spend this lesson proof reading my research and finishing any loose ends that I’d left unfinished. 

I found lots of errors and unfinished parts in my fmp so I was happy I took the time to correct them

I got feedback back on my proposal for this lesson so I plan to rectify the work I've done.

I'm continuing on the editing and adding to my proposal and research this lesson as there are still some areas that need a bit more work. 

I finished all the feedback this lesson and I also reorganised my wix website as I had had all my work in one page instead of using subpages, I've now added subpages and I feel much happier with the result.

I was successful in finishing a rough draft for my evaluation and I also sent out a google form so I can receive feedback from my peers on the finished music video.
