Practical work:

I did some practice filming on the weekend to lay out the scenes and practice filming with the mask. We were supposed to use the drone for this filming but unfortunately I couldn't work out how to get it to fly in time even with the help of online resources so I just tried to demonstrate for myself the kind of shot I wanted using my phone. We filmed 2 scenes. The first on the bench and the second on the field.

What went well is that I felt the actors did a proficient performance and I felt the scenes I planned were able to show a sense of loneliness.

One thing I didn't take into consideration for filming was the lack of vision for actors wearing the horse mask. I think this is visible in the first

scene however I think with more practice and building confidence in my guidance on where to walk this will be fixed. Another issue that I had was the seamlessness between the end of the horse mask and the start of the actors body. Next time I will use a jacket that covers the neck so that this won't ruin the realism. I enjoyed making this as I worked with these actors previously for my poster campaign and I find them very easy to work with as everyone is respectful and open to others ideas and we all work well together to create a creative vision. I was unable to develop the skill of learning to operate a drone however I plan to use assistance from my friend who flies drones as a hobby as I was having trouble getting the drone up into the air. I think if I spent 6 weeks making this type of product to a much higher standard I would still be proud of the result and I think this is still the kind of thing I want to make although I would probably add some dialogue sections to lead the story along and I would have more characters and more public locations or maybe employ the skill of animation to give the video a more surrealist feel. The mark scheme states that the four areas are context, research, practical skills and reflection. I feel most confident in context as I chose a topic that I feel is relatable to everyone and I also really enjoy music videos so I feel confident in using this format. I feel least confident in practical skills as I want to stretch myself with using new equipment such as a drone and also learning new editing skills in premier pro in order to stretch myself.
